Mandarin Ducks

 Oil on canvas 61 x 76 cm

Shanghai zoo,China. On a visit to the zoo,on a gloomy winter day. There was an interesting and bright spot, the mandarin ducks in the pond. The males have taken extreme form of looks and courtship to the ordinary female. when i was observing them.It did look as the males were courting or competing for the female duck.

Love these Mandarin ducks, Ben! Their garb would certainly turn the head of a female.
In Ohio, I'm familiar with wood ducks. Similar to Man. not quite as fancy.

Je ne sais pas si ce sont des séducteurs, mais ils m'ont éblouie et captivée par les couleurs.
Très joli travail...
Gros bisous

Hi Ben, these ducks are painted masterfully. It seems that one can see the brightness of their feathers.
